Nigerian Twin Sisters Married To Twin Brothers and They’ve Made Guinness World Record!!!

Nigerian twin sisters who got married to twin brothers the same day, have made the Guinness Book of World Records as they were named the 1st in Africa and the 251st in the world to successfully do such. The couple were joined together at Foursquare Gospel Church in Omole, Ikeja, Lagos.

 

 

Folawemi Taiwo Okunniyi and Febisola Kehinde Okunniyi are identical twin sisters from the same parents from Ondo State. Their grooms, Chinonso Akinade Okueze and Chibuzor Adelakin Okueze are also identical twins from the same parents from Asaba, Delta State.

During the church wedding, officials of the Guinnes Book of World Records acknowledged that they have never had any record or history of twins’ marriage in Africa.

Man Surprises Wife With 50th Anniversary Corn Maze of Their Wedding Photo!!!

One Ohio man took an unconventional approach when it came to a golden anniversary gift, surprising his bride of 50 years not with an oh-so-expected piece of gold jewelry but with 17 acres of golden corn carved into a maze outlining their wedding portrait.

"He did it with the kids. They kept it a secret," Marie Derthick, of Mantua, Ohio, told GoodMorningAmerica.com of her husband's elaborate plan.

Phil Derthick, 72, and wife Marie Derthick, 75, have been hosting corn mazes for the past seven years at their 181-acre farm.

"Last year we did John Glenn, because he had his 50 th anniversary of going around the world, and in 2010 we had the Twin Towers in honor of the 10 th anniversary of Sept. 11, and we've done the Steelers and the Browns because, of course, they're our favorite," Marie Derthick explained.

This year, however, she had no idea what her romantic husband had in store.
"It was the end of June when I finally did find out," she said. "I thought they were nuts, but it's actually turned out very well."
Once the initial shock of her 17-acre face wore off, Marie Derthick admitted that the maze, designed to include their wedding portrait, the church where they were married and her husband's favorite antique tractor, is definitely her favorite of all their cornfield creations.
"I was surprised, because they put it together very nicely with the church where we were married at the top, and our wedding picture of the two of us in the middle and the old tractor at the bottom," she said.
The personalized corn field, which shockingly only took the design and cutting team, Maze Play, one day to construct, has three different mazes, the longest measuring 4.4 miles covering the Derthicks' faces and the church.

But when asked how these two lovebirds could ever possibly top this corn maze next year, Marie Derthick said, "I don't know, but we've got to come up with something good."

MTV Base Shuga, season three premiered yesterday with all the electrifying excitement of a world class drama series as MTV Base and MTV Staying Alive hosting some of Nigeria’s biggest heavy weights in different industries within the marketing, telecommunications, health and the entertainment industries and more.

The event which held at the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island Lagos, had guests adorning exquisite ensembles walk the black carpet.  Enthusiastic guests turned up in their numbers to show support to MTV Base and the cast of the award winning drama series.

The Shuga cast and crew also turned out in full force led by enigmatic director, Biyi Bandele. The exciting star cast include Ikubese Emmanuel Ifeanyichukwu, Okezie Morro, Chris Attoh, Timini Egbuson, Kachi Nnochiri, EFA Iwara, Olumide Oworu and Sani Mu’azu. 

Newlywed songster, Tiwa Savage was also at the premiere along with other members of the cast, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Sharon Ezeamaka, Maria Okanrende, Owumi Ugbeye, Bikiya Graham-Douglas and KC Ejelonu who rivaled one another on the black carpet with their glamorous attires.

Speaking at the Shuga launch, Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Viacom International Media Network commented, “We are so proud of Biyi and our amazing ensemble cast who have done such a fabulous job in delivering this utterly compelling and thought- provoking drama that engages while also communicating important public health messages.”

LADY GAGA'S ARRIVES AMERICA MUSIC AWARD (AMA) 2013 ON HORSE !!!

If there's any star these days who's difficult to steal the spotlight from — it's the tongue-wagging, twerking, eyebrow-morphing Miley Cyrus. However at the 2013 American Music Awards, it was another celeb's turn to grab back center stage; making such a stunning entrance  that Cyrus herself admitted defeat. 

That would be Lady Gaga, of course, who pre-Miley was accostumed to owning these events. Tonight, the singer arrived on scene poised on a Trojan horse (powered by two hidden humans inside), dressed in a Grecian gown...and right smack in the middle of Cyrus's red-carpet interview.

Cyrus put on a wry face for the massive upstage. "You can stop interviewing me now," she deadpanned. "I'm so boring, I'm back to normal." 

Indeed, Cyrus was dressed in an uncharacteristically low-key outfit — a simple while pantsuit accented with tasteful hair and makeup — and was giving benign commentary on the special performance she had planned for the awards show in honor of her 21st birthday, which she celebrated Saturday. 

Speaking like a jaded veteran of red carpet wars, Cyrus was impressively humorous about her rival's splash. "What a [expletive] scene stealer," Cyrus noted dryly. "Next time I'm coming in on a dragon."

Rihanna's Mom Presents Her With the First-Ever Icon Award at the 2013 AMAs: "I'm So Proud of You"

A family affair! The 2013 American Music Awards were chock full of A-list music stars, show-stopping performances, and flashy red carpet fashion. But one of the best moments of the night occurred when Rihanna accepted the first-ever Icon Award -- presented to her by her very own mom, Monica Braithwaite.

After a rousing rendition of her hit song "Diamonds," the 25-year-old singer was joined onstage by her mother. "Rihanna, I'm so proud of you tonight,"Braithwaite began, visibly emotional. "I know the journey in your career has not always been an easy one, but tonight I applaud you and admire you for being so strong and so positive and so humble and so focused."

She continued: "It's amazing how you always manage to take good from all your experiences. I'm so blessed to be a part of this historic moment. I just want to say how proud I am to present to you the first-ever AMA Icon Award."

Rihanna owes at least part of that honor to her mother, who has supported her career since the very beginning. "Just about 20 years ago is when I really started making your life a living hell [with] my annoying little husky man voice, you call it," the singer quipped, turning to look at her mom. "I annoyed every one of my neighbors." 

She went on to tell a story about how she had to beg Braithwaite to let her audition. "I thank you -- we all thank you -- for that yes," she said. "Because that was the beginning of it all."

Later, accepting the award for Best Male R&B/Soul Artist, Justin Timberlake gave a shout-out to Rihanna and her mother. "Can we talk about how cute Rihanna's mom is?" the "Mirrors" crooner said in an aside. "Rihanna's mom is so cute. She's so proud."
